Each general waste bin comes with an included weight. Green waste over that allowance is charged at $23.00 per 100 kg. Most garden waste is bulky rather than heavy, but wet material, soil and big logs change that quickly.

Packing green waste so the space goes further
Green waste is awkward. Branches tangle and leave gaps, so a bin can look full while holding a lot of air.
- Cut branches into shorter lengths so they lie flat.
- Put woody, bulky material in first, then fill the gaps with clippings and leaves.
- Press loose material down as you go.
- Keep everything below the rim. Bins must not be filled above it.
Watch the weight after rain
Wet clippings and leaves weigh more than dry ones. On the Coffs Coast that can make a real difference after a wet week. If you can, leave cut material to dry for a day or two before loading.

Please do not overfill. Bins must not be filled above the rim. Transporting an overfilled skip bin is an offence, and an additional fee of $80 may apply to overfilled bins.
