Book a general waste bin instead if the job is mostly household rubbish, furniture and garden waste with only a little renovation material. General waste bins come with a published included weight and 7 days' hire. Both price tables are below.

Skip bin for a bathroom renovation
Bathrooms produce less volume than you might expect, but a lot of weight. Tiles, screed and old mortar are heavy, and weight limits may restrict how much tile can go in a Builders & Renovators bin.
A 3m³ or 4m³ often suits a single bathroom. If you are removing floor and wall tiles from a large bathroom or more than one room, contact the team before booking. The heavy materials page explains why.
Skip bin for a home renovation in stages
Kitchens and whole-home renovations often happen in stages: demolition, then waiting on trades, then fit-out. Plan the bin around the heaviest waste period, which is usually the strip-out.
- Book the bin to arrive just before demolition starts.
- Use the 14 days' hire included with a Builders & Renovators bin to cover the strip-out.
- Additional hire is $20 per day after the included period.
- For a long job, a second bin later in the project can suit better than keeping one on site.
Older homes and asbestos
Many older homes contain building materials that may include asbestos, particularly in wall and floor linings, eaves and wet areas. Asbestos cannot go in any bin.
If you suspect asbestos, stop work and have it assessed by a licensed professional before any demolition. Do not break it up or put it in the skip.
